Who we are:
Navy League National Capital Council is one of the largest and most active in the Navy League. In addition to a large number of Life memberships, we have uniquely high corporate membership from businesses large and small that have similar interests in the success of our maritime heritage We are one of the largest, most active chapters and are unique in that we have a very high level of corporate membership. Our council is involved, productive and rewarding. We interface routinely with the highest levels of Sea Service leadership.
We have been recognized as one of the outstanding councils in the Navy League for the 24 straight years. Our location in the National Capital area means that our membership supports the National Navy League in more intimate ways than most other councils. One of the visible evidences of this support is that we provide the background collaboration and coordination for the annual Sea-Air-Space Symposium, the largest maritime professional exhibition in the United States, every spring.
Who can join.
are non-active-duty members (both prior-military and passionately interested civilians) and are the nation’s watchdogs for the sea services and track issues regarding military preparedness, modernization, and all other matters relative to maintaining U.S. strength at sea. Members of the Navy League are also recognized for their integrity, patriotism and community service, especially on the waterfront. Additionally, we conduct educational programs promoting a second-to-none sea service and support for the people who serve and their families. Although current active-duty personnel cannot become members, their spouses, family members, and inactive reservists are indeed invited to join. See www.navyleague.org for more info.
